Note: We must have at least 28 participants registered in order to run any division.
Philosophy
The intent of this program is to teach the game of basketball while developing skills, a sense of teamwork, and fair play in a positive and relaxed environment. Learning while having fun is a primary goal of this program.

How we create teams:
Teams are created as equitably as possible based on player evaluations, height, school district area, practice conflict days, grade level, and skill level. Because of these factors, we cannot honor any friend or carpool requests for this program.
Note for Girls' Divisions
To maintain high enrollment and energy in our girls' divisions, we are combining leagues with Mount Kisco, Pound Ridge, and Bedford. While this is still a recreational (non-travel) league, some girls’ games will be played in neighboring towns.
Playing in Other Leagues
Players may play in both our league and other organized leagues except for Varsity & JV interscholastic players. They are not eligible for the in-house youth basketball league.
HOWEVER, people who are interested in participating in a high school team are encouraged to register for our program. Those who are selected for the interscholastic program will be given a full refund.
Fees
If registered on or before October 16th: $250/player
If registered after October 17th (space permitting): $300/player
Non-residents: $325/player (non-residents constitute any participant that does not live within the Katonah-Lewisboro school district).
** Late registrants will be added to teams after December 14th at the Department's discretion. Conflict days will not be honored.

Practice Information
Practices are held Monday-Friday evenings at KLSD school gyms. Due to limited space, we cannot guarantee that your player will be placed within their elementary school district. Practices are one hour, once per week, and start between 6:30-8:30pm.
You may list up to two conflict days per player, though placement is not guaranteed. Those with multiple weekly conflicts should not register. (For example, if your child has another program to attend on Mondays and Wednesdays, please note that while registering so that we can avoid scheduling their weekly practice on those days.) Please only list conflict days within the basketball season (November – March).

Player Evaluations
Mandatory for team placement in grades 3-10.
October 14th (MPES), October 15th (IMES), and October 27th (JJMS). Please see the attached PDF for specific time slots for each grade level: click here.
Scores & Standings
Junior Divisions (Grades 3 & 4): Scores and standings will not be kept. All players will receive participation awards. The last game weekend for this division will be the weekend of February 6th.
All other divisions: League standings will be kept and awards will be presented to the league and playoff champions.
League Communication
We will again be using the Sports You app for all communication regarding youth basketball this year.
Howlers Participation
All players registered for the Howlers travel team are required to also participate in Rec basketball.
