Pick-up schedule
Groups 1-5
-
No child(ren) should come to day camp if they exhibit signs of illness or symptoms related to COVID-19. If a child becomes sick at camp, they will immediately receive isolation from the other children. Parents will have one hour to arrange pick up after notification by camp director. Failure to pick up your child promptly will forfeit attendance at day camp for the rest of the season.
-
Drop-off and Pick-up: only campers will be allowed on the camp site. If parent needs to talk to staff – they can call the camp office and arrange a meeting separate from the camp and campers.
-
Campers must bring a face covering daily. We will encourage campers to wear masks as much as they can tolerate. Face masks will not be worn during swim time or playing games where the covering inhibits breathing.
-
All Counselors will wear a face covering except when playing games where the covering inhibits breathing, they can safely be social distanced from their campers, during lunch/snacks/hydrating themselves.
-
Lunches will be brought from home or if parent allows at the Pool Snack Bar. No sharing of food, drinks or touching of containers that belong to other campers. Campers will need to bring their own sunscreen, towel, swimsuit and refillable water bottle. No electronics, stuffed animals, cards or other toys will be allowed from home.
-
A hand sanitizing station will be available at the entrance of camp, near playground and under the pavilion. Campers must apply sanitizer when they enter the camp site, entering the playground and doing arts and crafts. Following NYS guidelines, the practice of hand washing and hand sanitizing will be required upon arrival to the first program activity; between all program activities; after using the restroom; before eating; and, before departing the last program activity.
-
A schedule of daily rotation and assignments is prepared each week for counselors to follow – we have come up with 10 locations and activities so pods can stay separate – (sports and games at baseball field, basketball at basketball court 1, soccer at basketball court 2, nature at lean-to, music at stage, arts & crafts under pavilion, game area under tent, playground, volleyball court for volleyball or sand play, and the pool). We also can add in hikes, blacktop games like 4 square, boxball, hopscotch, jacks, and sprinkler time, even a special entertainer might be on the schedule.
-
THERE WILL BE NO PLAY DATES at dismissal parents, babysitters, grandparents, nannies should be the only one’s picking up their respective children.
BIG NO’s for THIS SUMMER –
-
NO Bus Transportation
-
NO TRIPS
-
NO Rainy Day inside location – if weather is bad – NO CAMP, all campers will stay home . Think of this as school and snow days – we will call a rainy day by 7:15 a.m. if we have to cancel for the day, if it is going to storm bad late in the day we will call for an early dismissal, if the rain will clear we will have a late drop off in the morning. We do have some shelter at the park and will do our best to have camp if it drizzles.
-
NO PUBLIC AT TOWN PARK – We will close camp areas to the public during camp hours. Park property includes the main parking lot, basketball courts, volleyball courts, playground. The town will block off the main lot at 9:00am.
The 2020 summer camp season will look and operate differently from previous years, but we will do our best to provide our campers with a fun, positive experience in a safe environment. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate through this unprecedented and challenging time.
