As we move forward towards September, we felt it prudent to update the community regarding all things Parks & Recreation for the upcoming fall season.

Parks & Recreation Office:

All town offices are closed to the public until further notice. However, the Parks and Recreation staff will be on site at the Parks and Recreation office from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. The doors of the office will be locked, but the staff will be here to answer questions, collect registration forms, and payment. Appointments can always be made to see us by calling our office number at (914) 232-6162.

Onatru Tennis Courts:

The courts will be unavailable tomorrow (Saturday, August 22nd) from 8:30am to approximately 4:00pm due to mid-season maintenance of the playing surface. Please stay off the courts so that the contractors can work their magic.

Lewisboro Town Park Pool:

The pool is open weekdays from 12:00pm to 7:30 pm and on weekends from 11:00am to 6:30pm until Wednesday, September 9th

As summer's end draws near and autumn approaches, the need for the pool reservation system lessens. As a result, we will cancel the weekend reservation system starting with next weekend (August 29th/30th) and for the rest of the season. Please phone (914) 977-8046 to contact the pool staff with any questions or concerns.

Tennis Reservation System:

We are utilizing Court Reserve to reserve tennis courts at Fox Valley and Onatru Farm Parks. When members make a reservation it is under the understanding that reservations will be used within 15 minutes of the start time of the reservation. Anyone not using their reservation time within that 15 minute grace period, can and will forfeit their reservation to anyone waiting to use the courts.

Fall Brochure:

We will not issue a fall brochure for 2020, but we are in the process of developing programs for the youth, adults and seniors of Lewisboro. We will advertise these programs on our website, our Facebook page and through our e-mail marketing platform.

Town Property:

  • Playgrounds at Lewisboro Town Park, Onatru Farm Park and Vista Park remain closed to the public as well as the basketball courts and volleyball courts in Lewisboro Town Park.

  • All public bathroom facilities are closed as well during the pandemic.

Senior Outreach:

  • The 2020 scheduled trips for the Lewisboro Senior Adult Program have been cancelled.

  • Wednesday meetings will be held at the Onatru pavillion on August 26th and during the month of September. Participants must bring their own chair, mask and lunch for this socially distant activity.

Dear Residents,

We continue to work with the Westchester County Health Department to address the exposure at the pool on Sunday July 26th. Please know that they have assured us we may safely remain open at this time and understand this to be a low risk exposure. We will continue to work with the Health Department and evaluate this as the situation moves forward.

Our commitment to YOU from the desk of the Town Supervisor and Parks & Recreation Department:

  • The pool facility is deep cleaned daily, cleaned between user groups and sanitized regularly.

  • We continue to enforce social distancing, facial coverings and capacity limits. The town has strict adherence to CDC and New York State Health Department guidelines.

  • We screen our employees daily and any staff member reporting any potential symptoms is immediately sent home.

  • To keep you informed and appraised of any changes - feel free to reach out to the Parks and Recreation Department at 232-6162 with any questions or concerns.

Day Camp has not been impacted by this exposure and significant measures were made prior to the start of camp to distance campers from the public while in session (such as but not limited to, using the pool at separate times, disinfecting between sessions, etc.,).

We have received inquiries related to the opening of other activities at our facilities (basketball, volleyball, playgrounds and outdoor bathroom facilities - all of which will remain closed at this time). Please check for updated information on our facilities and programs.

It is with a heavy heart that we send this email to inform you that this 2020 Pool Season will be like one we have never had before.  At least to start out, we will not be able to take our loyal School District, North Salem and Non Resident Families this summer, due to strict Covid-19 guidelines for pool capacities. If we are not meeting capacity numbers and/or the state relaxes the numbers, we will then start to bring our former members in the order of school district members first, then seniority from our North Salem and Non Resident Families. None of us have a crystal ball on the future and what will happen. We will keep in touch with you as things change. We will truly miss you this summer.

The pool complex will be open on Monday, June 29th with the concession stand fully operational as well. Only the main pool and dive tank will be operational this summer as we do still need to observe social distancing guidelines.   This means please stay 6 feet away from other families sheltering in place, wear a mask while entering and exiting the pool facility and when you head to the concession stand or bathroom facilities. We do need to limit bathroom capacities to two people per room. There will be no showers, changing room facilities and it will become a BRING YOUR OWN FACILITY. This means please bring your own chairs, goggles, buckets, life jackets, hand sanitizer, etc.  We will be sanitizing on a regular basis the bathrooms and any touch areas. We highly suggest that you come to the pool with a mask and hand sanitizer every time you come.

Capacity is limited to approximately 50 households at any given time. We have painted/taped approximately 50 squares in red paint and silver tape around the complex for families to be stationed while at the pool. There is a 6 foot distance between each square/circle. We say approximate as if households only have one person coming to the pool complex we might be able to have households in, if we have all households with multiple members we might have to decrease our capacities.  Whether you are a household of 1 or a household of 5, you will have to “claim” a square/circle while you are at the pool.  It will be first come, first serves for the squares/circles. Some will have umbrellas or under the shade structure, and some are out in the sun. Please pack accordingly (umbrellas, sunscreen, beach huts).

The snack bar will be open and fully operational since it is considered outdoor dining but tables will be limited near the snack bar.  However, we will add some extra ones right outside to have more room to sit, if need be.

Registration is up and ready for you and we have two options for accessing the pool this summer.

Option 1-

We will offer limited types of memberships which are listed below:

  • Town Resident Family - $350 for the summer

  • Town Resident Adult (for ages 16 and up) - $225 for the summer

  • Town Resident Senior Adults - $60 for the summer

If you had a pool membership last year you will only need to do 1 of 2 things to renew:

(1) Click here to access the online registration page to renew your membership all online, or;

(2) Send or drop off a registration with payment (cash or check) to our office and we will handle your registration in house (no need to send your pool cards in from last year).

IF YOU ARE A NEW MEMBER WHO NEVER HAD A MEMBERSHIP TO THE POOL – please call our office at 232-6162 or email to set up an appointment to come in register and get your photos taken. Please know we will only allow one – two people into the office at a time for photos. We do have evening and weekend appointments available.

On another note – If by any chance we have to close the pool due to Covid, with no chance to re-open before the season ends, we will pro-rate your membership and credit you for a future program and/or membership for next year.

Option 2-

Daily Rates at the Pool

  • $15 for adults (16 years and older)

  • $10 for children (2 years – 15 years old)

Residents/Resident Families will only be allowed to bring in 2 guests per day. NO GUEST CARDS THIS YEAR.

  • $12 for adults (16 years and older)

  • $8 for children (2 – 15 years old)

  • $18 for adults (16 years and older)

  • $12 for children (2 – 15 years old)

Will be done by reservations through our recreation software system. To make a block reservation, please go to online registration website AFTER MONDAY, JUNE 29th to book a block on all weekends from July 4th – September 6th. We have divided the day into two sections – an 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. block of 50 households and then a 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. block of 50 households. You will only be allowed to reserve 1 block per weekend per family. Any openings during these blocks will be first come, first served at the gate after 30 minutes of opening the block (aka – 11:30 a.m. or 4 p.m. - we will allow the gate to allow households in when there is space). Full daily rates are in effect during the block times.

Will be first come, first served at the pool. When we hit capacity – families will have to wait until a family leaves to replace them.

Any senior adult and/or member of our community that needs special accommodations to access the pool successfully (like storing their chair at the pool for visits, assistance from the car to the pool complex, etc.) can call our Parks and Recreation office to set up arrangements. All arrangements will be confidential.

We thank you for your patience and support as we find out way through the pandemic.
